A prayer for Lent
O Lord, who hast mercy upon all,
take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore Thee,
a heart to delight in Thee,
to follow and enjoy Thee, for Christ's sake, Amen

THE CHURCH IN THE WIDER WORLD
With hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankans displaced and bereaved by the brutal end to a 25-year civil war in 2009, one former CMS mission partner - Ina Watson - returned in February to help the church make a difference. Sponsored by CMS, Ina leads a trauma counselling course, a key intervention of the Diocese of Colombo to help heal the country's wounds after 25 years of war. Ina had already spent several years in Sri Lanka, helping to set up a counselling centre in Kandy for those affected by the Tsunami in 2004.
Please pray:
that the counselling course will deliver good training for those who attend
that CMS's work will show the love of Jesus in action
that that those left traumatised by the civil war will receive the help they need
Please also remember Rosemary and James who are still working in the Theological College in Kandy.
Ugandan Lunch – Sunday 21st March
As part of our support for CMS our church now has a link partner - Isobel Booth-Clibborn who is based in Kampala, Uganda. To highlight our link we shall be providing a lunch with a Ugandan theme on Sunday, 21st March at 12.45p.m. in the Methodist Schoolroom. Tickets are £6 each (from David Penfound) and the numbers are limited, so please book early!
There will be an opportunity to meet Isobel and learn about her work with CMS in the afternoon of Sunday, 28th March when she will be visiting Wroughton. Details to follow.

Grow Zones
Are there any keen fruit and vegetable growers out there? Or any beginners thinking about “growing their own”? Would you be interested in being part of a Grow Zone team, to help each other with ideas, advice and help? The idea has been pioneered by EarthAbbey, whose founder, Chris Sunderland , spoke at a contemporary service here last summer. They are now encouraging other people to do something similar in their own localities. There is more
