The tree works took place last week and have made
significant improvements to the views around the church. The tree surgeons were not able to complete all the work in the time allotted, and so we will need to have them back at a later date to complete the schedule.

THE CHURCH IN THE WIDER WORLD
The Church Mission Society asks us to pray for Nepal. As the global food crisis becomes more widely felt, rising prices is a growing concern for this country where most people live on less than a dollar a day.
FARMS, an international Christian organization, is working with three mission organizations in an effort to strengthen believers economically and spiritually. The team uses
interest-free loans (micro-enterprise) and biblical stewardship training which will allow these Christians to generate an income. That money not only takes care of the daily needs of their family, but the tithing that occurs will also support their local church.
Pray that the loan committees will provide the necessary leadership and decision-making skills for the continued success of programs and for continued success for the loan recipients as they provide an example for others to follow.
Mission to Seafarers
A big thank you to all the ladies who have knitted hats. Please could we have your hats by the end of May.
The WI needs fancy wool to knit scarves and hats for
Christmas shoe boxes that are sent overseas for needy
children. If anyone has any wool to spare we would be grateful. Doreen Barclay.
Stop the Traffik
Finally on November 8th there is a big event called The Stand to raise awareness about trafficking which will be at the NEC Birmingham. This has been organised by a 22 year old man who was so shocked when he heard about trafficking he felt he had to do something. It is my intention to book a Barnes coach so please let me know if you are interested. There will be many well known speakers and Christian Bands For all the above please contact Sally Parker on (813847).
